The 1504 kanji of JLPT N1, with their readings and meaning.
Review every JLPT N1 kanji with its on'yomi and kun'yomi readings and its meaning — perfect for exam prep and building your vocabulary.
The N1 level has 1504 kanji in this list, laid out in 16 consecutive groups of up to 100 cards that follow the order of the list, not stroke count or topic. Every N1 card shows the on'yomi and kun'yomi readings and the meaning in English. Here are a few of the first kanji on the list: 氏 (family name), 統 (ruling), 基 (fundamentals), 価 (value), 提 (propose).
N1 is the largest level in the series and includes many rare kanji from written, formal or specialised language. With this many cards, the most practical approach is to browse it in groups and use it as a reference rather than a single read.
A note on N1: the JLPT has not published official kanji lists since 2010, so level lists are usually community-compiled and vary from one source to another. This list may not match others, so if you are preparing for the exam, cross-check it against your own materials and treat it as a study aid, not an official list.
