About the N2 quiz
The N2 quiz draws on all 374 kanji of that level. In the N2 quiz, each question shows a kanji with four possible meanings and, after each answer, you see straight away whether it was right, or the other way round: a meaning and four kanji to choose from. A few of the kanji that can come up: 量 (quantity), 清 (pure), 底 (bottom), 訓 (instruction), 枝 (bough).
At N2, many kanji have meanings that sit close to one another, so the four options make you pay attention to nuance. Practising from meaning to kanji as well can help keep them apart.
A word about lists: the JLPT has not published official kanji lists since 2010, so level lists are usually community-compiled and change depending on the source. The N2 content here may differ from other resources, and it is no guarantee of what will appear on the exam. Treat it as extra practice.
Frequently asked questions
How are the N2 quiz questions chosen?
Each question is drawn at random from the 374 kanji of N2. In one direction you see the kanji and choose between four meanings; in the other you see a meaning and choose between four kanji. Wrong options never share a meaning with the right one, so only one answer is valid.
Is my progress saved?
Your best streak for this level, the practice mode and your latest answers are stored in your browser, with no account or sign-up. Correct answers and the current streak go back to zero when you reload. Each level keeps its own best streak, and clearing your browser data also removes what was saved.
Does it help prepare for the JLPT?
It can work as extra practice for reviewing kanji and meanings, but it does not replace a textbook or exam-preparation materials. Other lists may differ, so compare this one with your own materials and do not treat it as a guarantee of what will appear on the exam.
