G06 · Also: も
Goal: say «also» (6 example sentences).
Before you start
The sentences only use words you already know from hiragana, katakana and the beginner level.
This lesson assumes what you saw in the earlier ones. If something feels shaky, go back to it:
What you learn
〜も 〜です
- もalso, too
も means «also» and takes the place of は: わたしも がくせいです (I am a student too). They never go together: there is no はも.
Examples
- わたしも がくせいです。watashi mo gakusei desu.I am a student too.
- これも ほんです。kore mo hon desu. This is a book too.
- ともだちも せんせいです。tomodachi mo sensei desu.My friend is a teacher too.
- きょうも やすみです。kyou mo yasumi desu.Today is a day off too.
- それは わたしの かさです。sore wa watashi no kasa desu. That is my umbrella.
- あしたも はれです。ashita mo hare desu.Tomorrow will be clear too.
Practice
Two rounds: first you pick what each sentence means; then you complete it with the missing form.
