H10 · W row and ん
Goal: read 4 words with わ を ん.
Before you start
This lesson assumes what you saw in the earlier ones. If something feels shaky, go back to it:
New kana
- わwa
- をwo
- んn
ん is the only consonant that stands alone: it is read n. を is read o and is only used as a particle; you will practise it in H16.
Look at their shape and reading. If in doubt, check the hiragana chart (gojūon).
Trace practice
Go over the shape with your finger, mouse or a stylus. It is free practice: it does not count towards passing the lesson.
Words
You practise them in kana; underneath you can see how they are usually written.
- わたしwatashiI, meUsually written 私
- にわniwagardenUsually written 庭
- ほんhonbookUsually written 本
- Preview · practised in H15せんせいsenseiteacherUsually written 先生

Practice
Two rounds: first you read each word and type its romaji, then you pick what it means. No romaji on screen.
Reading in context
A short text written only with the kana and grammar you already know. Read it and answer.
