- E05opening, closing, switching on and off
- E06simple paperwork

- E11talking about work
- E12getting along with people
- E13describing symptoms and taking medicine
What you learn
そうじ and せんたく take する (そうじを します); from them come そうじき (vacuum cleaner) and せんたくき (washing machine): き means «machine».

You practise them in kana; underneath you can see how they are usually written.

Practice
Two rounds: first you read each word and type its romaji, then you pick what it means. No romaji on screen.
Reading in context
A short text written only with the kana and grammar you already know. Read it and answer.
At the end of the day, someone goes over what they did:
きょうは せんたくを しました。そうじは しませんでした。
kyou wa sentaku o shimashita. souji wa shimasendeshita.
What was left undone?
Translation
Today I did the laundry. I didn't clean.
